I just released a prediction-based game for the World Cup with a charitable aspect to it. Come and play!

Hi everyone,

All the dribble I'm about to type relates to the following site: https://ether-world-cup.com – if this isn't the appropriate place, or you feel it would be better suited elsewhere, please let me know!

I'll keep this somewhat brief: about an hour ago I released something I've been working on for a little while in preparation for the World Cup. It's a game where you pay one entry fee, and that gives you the right to make a prediction for each match in the tournament (be it a team win, or a draw in the group stages).

The entry fee is 0.2018 Ether, and of that, 90% goes into a grand prize pool, 5% goes to charity via Giveth, and 5% forms a developer fee. Racking up streaks of consecutive correct predictions awards you bonus points, giving you momentum to pull away from other participants.

At the end of the tournament, the top four players by score will receive 40%, 30%, 20% and 10% of the overall prize pool respectively. Even if you have no idea how soccer works, just bet against England and you're guaranteed to get at least SOME points!

The UI is pretty minimalist: I've attached a screenshot of the Matches tab with my first few predictions made (you can change predictions up until the minute of kick-off!). I'm hardly going against the crowd here, I suspect. šŸ™‚

In before Iran thrashes Morocco and then wins the whole thing. Watch.

If you're interested, please have a look! I've run an event in this style a few times at work before, and it's proved really entertaining, even for those who would otherwise not give a damn about people falling over dramatically and biting each other! (Wait… is Suarez still playing?)

Thanks for reading, and if you decide to join, good luck!
